A four night visit to Belfast undertaken by myself (Kevin Doyle) and my wife Jayne.
Belfast is a great city to visit and the people of Northern Ireland are very friendly (as our guide on a tour to Giant’s Causeway remarked – it’s only each other we object to). The city itself is vibrant and buzzing with life. Bars aplenty and they have all retained their original charm and style and not a Wetherspoons in sight! The weather was warm and sunny and not the usual N. Ireland weather (it mostly rains). The city threw up wildlife surprises in the form of good numbers of Black Guillemot on the River Lagan (rare on the UK mainland), a flock of Black-tailed Godwits and a loud Mistle Thrush in Victoria Park. All this alongside the usual attractions like the Titanic Quarter, Harland & Wolf shipyard, Ulster Museum, Dark Hedges and Giant’s Causeway. A city well worth visiting!
