The Society was originally formed
in 1955 as the Cwmbran Camera Club by the Late Wilf Hathaway and now meets, under it's new name,
at Cwmbran Community Centre, Ventnor Road, Old Cwmbran (behind the Council
Offices by the town clock).
We meet every Wednesday
7.30 to 9.00pm September to July, Christmas and New Year excepted.
The club enjoys the benefits of being affiliated
to the PAGB (Photographic Alliance of Great Britain) as a member of the WPF (Welsh
Photographic Federation). We offer a warm welcome to all new members, be they experienced or just starting out in photography. Although most of the members are now working with digital, there are still a few who prefer to work with film..
The aim of the Society
is to further the enjoyment of photography, in all it's aspects, in
an informal and friendly atmosphere, by providing as varied and interesting
a programme as possible.
To this end we hold monthly competitions
for prints, slides and digital images which are judged by in
house and outside judges, points being awarded towards end of
year trophies.
We also take part in
friendly Inter-Club "battles" to give members the chance to submit their best work against other local clubs in South-East Wales and sometimes further afield.
We have plenty of free parking just outside.
We hope that the photos on our members' galleries will encourage you to come along and share our passion of photography.
